GRADE 4 AG AWARENESS PROGRAM

The Grade 4 Ag Awareness Program invites Grade 4 students from across the county to engage in a day of agricultural education. This program has existed for OVER 30 years, and has been recognized as a front runner in its class, as well as for its longstanding contribution to youth education. This program has been honored with induction into the Norfolk County Agricultural Hall of Fame for its dedication to teaching the significance of agriculture and its global impact.

The program features a variety of displays, interactive activities, speakers, shows, and demonstrations, including sheep shearing, cow milking, spinning, bee demonstrations, commodities, horse hitching, grooming, shoeing, and animal care, with the goal of connecting with curriculum discussions, and classroom activities, introducing young people to the importance and impact of agriculture on our daily lives.

Through the support of generous sponsors, the Norfolk County Agricultural Society offers this program to Grade 4 classes at no charge (no admission charge to the Fair) and offers a bussing subsidy to participating schools, of $150 to offset incurred costs.
