History

Retro NCFFormed in 1840, and known originally as the Talbot District Agricultural Society, the Norfolk County Agricultural Society has a long history of promoting awareness of agriculture and spear-heading activities that improve the quality of life for the people of South Western Ontario.

The Norfolk County Agricultural Society operates under the Horticultural & Agricultural Act (Ontario) and is staffed primarily by volunteers who dedicate countless hours to our various charitable activities and functions. The grounds and facilities used by the Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show are the property of the Norfolk County Agricultural Society and are also utilized by the community for local events year- round. Over the years, the society and its main annual event, the highly-acclaimed Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show, have been recipients of numerous Canadian, provincial and local awards.

In addition to being a member of the Ontario Association of Agricultural Organizations, the Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show is also a member of the Canadian Association of Fairs & Exhibitions, as well as the International Association of Fairs & Exhibitions.
